Reconstitution is the process of dissolving a lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide powder back into a liquid solution for research use.
You will need: the peptide vial, bacteriostatic water or sterile water, an appropriate syringe with needle, and alcohol swabs for sterilization.
Step 1: Remove the vial from storage and allow it to reach room temperature (15-20 minutes). Do not open while cold. Step 2: Clean the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab.
Step 3: Draw the desired volume of water into the syringe. Step 4: Insert the needle through the stopper, angle it so water runs down the inside wall. Release slowly.
Step 5: Gently swirl until fully dissolved. Do not shake. The solution should be clear. Step 6: Store reconstituted peptide at 2-8 degrees Celsius.
