TB-500: Thymosin Beta-4 in tissue repair research

TB-500 is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring 43-amino-acid protein called thymosin beta-4. This protein is found in virtually all human and animal cells and plays a central role in cell migration, blood vessel formation, and tissue repair.

The primary research interest in TB-500 centers on its ability to promote cell migration to injury sites. By upregulating actin, a cell-building protein, TB-500 may accelerate the repair of damaged tissue including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and skin.

TB-500 has also been studied for its potential anti-inflammatory properties. Preclinical research suggests it may reduce inflammation at injury sites while simultaneously promoting new blood vessel growth to support healing.

The peptide is typically supplied as a lyophilized powder and reconstituted with bacteriostatic water before use in research. It is often studied alongside BPC-157, as the two peptides are hypothesized to work through complementary mechanisms.

TB-500 is sold for research purposes only. All biological activity references are based on preclinical studies. It has not been approved for human therapeutic use.
